That’s why I’m never gonna cancel my USA subscription. Your shows always have a crazy twist right before the season finale.

Jokes aside: Not a single person who even considers voting for Trump is worth any hassle. Their vote is a coin flip on fucking acid. The dems should try to animate the lazy nonvoting pricks.

Your assessment is spot on. I am forever shocked that people seem to think there are voters on the fence between trump and anyone else

It’s pretty telling how you can meme about the most dangerous nation on the planet slipping into fascism. Of course you don’t care now because it isn’t happening in your city. I guaran-fucking-tee if drumpf gets re-elected, it will be IN your city by next year. So laugh it up.

I’m not sure what that has to do with you helping usher in fascism but you can make up whatever justification you want to help you sleep better, just accept that, especially for you, the world will be SIGNIFICANTLY worse when twice impeached, convicted felon, probably pedophile and certain fascist cheetolini gets memed into office.

I suggest a better cope than actively damaging morale. Something offline.

No fucking shit. I joke but I also make damn clear what the options are. Survival or not. I’ll mock my own side but I’ll also shame the hell out of any non democratic voter this year. You may not see the latter as often because I do that in person.

Honestly I suspect you’re damaging the cause more than me at the moment. The guy who really fucked up here imo won’t be President near year. It’s not on Harris regardless of my thoughts on the lady (that she’s a better leader than speaker and that I wish we could get someone like Senator Brown or Representative Ocasio-Cortez

I don’t think anyone means to disparage the very real concerns facing USians, and I think non-USians recognize this affects every one of us regardless of country (I recently made a comment regarding this exactly).

I think that commenter was just using humour because it’s quite overwhelming that within a week-- Trump’s been shot at and Biden is stepping aside.

If us outsiders are feeling this, then I imagine it is so much worse for USians. I am empathetic to how stressful this must be, and hope for a candidate who annhilates Trump and leads your country towards healing.

Being humorous about overwhelming things is how the fuck cheetolini got his first term.

How about we stop being humorous and acknowledge that the U.S. going fascist is literally the worst thing that could happen to the planet since the last meteor-driven mass extinction.

I absolutely DO mind the humor because I am acutely aware of how it kills activism.

I know how dangerous it is because I saw it cripple an entire generation through apathy, sarcasm, and ‘being above it’. I saw the groundwork of today’s fascist rise it the absolute detachment and knee-jerk memery that everyone of my generation responded to literally any threat with.

And it made us (GenX) absolutely irrelevant in politics and human rights to this fucking day.

So, no, humor isn’t harmless, and it isn’t a good cope, but it’s great for convincing everyone to do nothing but doomscroll and meme.

Which is exactly what the fascists want us to do.

The president of the United States affects the rest of the world but we don’t have a say in who it is, so I don’t know what you expect from us foreigners? Perhaps my country which is a staunch US ally and a fraction of the size should launch a coup?

Sort your shit out, America, because nobody is in a position to do it for you. We’re making jokes because it seems unreal that things have gotten this far and because there is no real way for us to influence US domestic politics.

Ok, enjoy sitting passively and watching and memeing as literally the greatest existential threat to human freedom slowly rises.

What you non-Americans can do: Stop meming, clear the air, show solidarity.

But no, just like history shows us:

When the world has a problem, America has a problem

When America has a problem, America has a problem.

I’m sure we can just sort this out real quick for you so you can go back to eurovision or living in buildings more than a hundred years old. I’m sure we’ll be fine.
