Three people are dead after a hostage situation unfolded in Austin, Texas, early Saturday, including a responding SWAT officer who was shot and killed in a shootout with the suspect, police said.
A second officer was also injured and the suspect was killed in the shooting, which occurred at a residence in southwest Austin, police said.
"This has been a very tragic day, a very tragic incident for all involved," interim Austin Chief of Police Robin Henderson said in emotional remarks during a press briefing on Saturday.
I feel like I must be reading this wrong, but it seems like 4 are dead, not 3. Are they not counting the suspect as one of the dead?
It says the officer died, two victims inside died, and the suspect died. That would be four dead not three. Plus the first victim could have died or been close to it since we don't know anything about her condition.
The police/media don't consider the shooter to be a person.
You can be a SWAT officer with only three years of experience?
everyone in texas thinks they're swat. I worked at an ambulance service where everyone wanted to be on the tactical team. gotta love the person there to fix you with their gun.
It's the thought that counts.
Another day in America, another shooting.
Please be Alex Jones.
Guaranteed it was some MAGA trumper upset about something fake that never happened.
