Genuine question, what do we do about this? More financial assistance so they can get out of these situations? Some kind of wellness checks?
Like with all disability accommodations the answer is varied. A person with dementia and a blind person need wildly different assistance despite both of them being easier to trap in a situation of domestic violence.
But I’d start with making disability payments not impacted by marital status and making them sufficient to live on. The number 1 easiest way to help people out of domestic violence is ensuring stable finances should they leave.
But disabled and on disability aren’t the same thing and we’re all in some way easier to trap
Depends on the disability, but some can really get on your nerves.
Oh then in that case you should absolutely commit dv against them
Now I’m not saying anyone should commit dv… but I understand.
That’s the cuntiest thing I’ve heard someone say in a long time
