The details of how the software was programmed should be legally irrelevant.
Why? Programmers should be legally liable for what they program.

watching Austin Energy capping my A/C and deciding to become a rabid supporter of Yud’s call to airstrike data centers
it’s a movie about (only in part but imo motivated by) Spike Jonze’s break up with Sofia Coppola. It’s neither positive or negative about AI per se. AI is a narrative vehicle for the sense of falling in love, growing apart, being left behind, and the aftermath of that break up. At the end, the AI lovingly says goodbye and leaves humanity behind.
Sometimes I’m tempted to be a dead internet accelerationist.
Why isn’t there a tech bro equivalent of Battle Creek Sanitarium yet.
Surprise level zero after so-called effective altruists uncritically adopted the Californian ideology, whether about AI alignment or anything else, and furthermore refused any deep critique of capitalism, suddenly seeing the entrepreneurial interests ditch them as soon as their humanistic PR actually threatens the bottom line.

It’s not just big hegemonic countries in general but specifically the particularly image-obsessed character of geopolitics in East Asia. Mianzi is a real concern in Chinese diplomacy.

My thanksgiving was drama-free (blurring the distinction between pleasant and boring) and just now finding what was going down here. 😭
They should update their structure page and strike stuff like this:
The for-profit would be legally bound to pursue the Nonprofit’s mission, and carry out that mission by engaging in research, development, commercialization and other core operations. Throughout, OpenAI’s guiding principles of safety and broad benefit would be central to its approach.
And maybe a good ol' IRS audit to boot. From this vantage, it looks like a structural coop.
I fell off after /r/SneerClub closed but these headlines are really bringing the band back together.
looks like Dot Matrix from ReBoot, but blue instead of green
lmao imagine The Seventh Seal but they're playing that
(I assume it's like a sci-fi Cones of Dunshire)
someone somewhere thinking this is a good move in the acausal game of chess with the basilisk
Covert conversion therapy by setting you up with the absolute worst humanity has to offer.
