I got a 24 hour ban for making an edgy joke for “pedophilic comment” (wild) during which I could not log in or appeal the ban. No warning, no previous issues on that community (No Stupid Questions). Didn’t even know I was banned until I asked about it on Discord because I was having difficulty with logging in. Zero clear indication that I was banned or why, just completely locked out of the account.
Looks like I’m also banned from the lemmy.world discord channel because I voiced my opinion on all of this. To add injury to insult it looks like I am banned from No Stupid Questions and I can’t edit or remove the comments I’ve made on that community. All without any kind of previous warning over a goofy joke. Ridiculous.
This has left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. It’s a bummer because I’ve been pushing Lemmy and this instance pretty hard since I’ve come over here. The inability to log in and see that you’ve been banned and for what reason and not be able to appeal it is crazy to me.
