FBI officials who searched former President Donald Trump’s Mar-A-Lago estate in 2022 did not search a locked closet and “hidden room” for White House documents, ABC News reported Thursday, raising questions about whether Trump concealed more classified documents from the federal government.

Citing anonymous sources, ABC News reports FBI officials did not search a locked closet—which investigators learned after the search that Trump had changed the lock on months earlier—while his attorney searched the property for classified materials to turn over the government in response to a subpoena.

Investigators found the locked closet, but were reportedly told that the space behind the door “went nowhere” and so decided not to try and open it, according to ABC.

Officials also were not aware at the time of a “hidden room” in Trump’s bedroom, and thus did not search it, ABC reports.

Trump when his home is searched by the FBI for stolen documents:

“Oh, you don’t have a key and you say there’s nothing there? Cool. Well, I guess we’re done here.”

A black person when their home is searched for a dime bag of weed:

“Break down every single door in this entire house from the smallest cabinet to the garage door.”

They don’t need to be black. They just so often are.

I buy weed from a legal state and take it home to my illegal state. My daughter asked me if I was afraid of getting caught and I told her that she and I will probably benefit from white privilege our entire lives and part of that white privilege means that we will be much less likely to be pulled over when we’re driving safely and legally and when we are, it is much less likely our car will be searched for weed. So no, I’m not afraid of getting caught, but I am afraid for any black person who does the same thing and doesn’t have that privilege.

This also applies if you’re not American. I’m white as fuck but that didn’t stop the state trooper from having us stand on the side of the road for 45 minutes while he searched our car cause it smelled like weed (it was a new car, never had weed in it). I can’t imagine what would’ve happened if we weren’t white. American cops are just fucking cunts. ACAB.

I would be careful admitting to such things on Lemmy, every post here is publicly accessible. There may not be any threat of law enforcement coming after you for that right now, but a fascist wave is a strong possibility in our future and selective enforcement of minor drug offenses is a common method of political persecution.

I understand where you’re coming from, but I am not going to watch what I say in fear of what may happen in the future. As it is right now, I am free to express myself and I’m going to take advantage of that freedom.

If you’re going to raid someone’s home, and you find evidence that they have been lying to you, why the hell would you listen them when they say “there’s nothing in this room that we keep locked?”

    So bizarre.

If he kept the nuclear related documents just in the bathroom, what sort of top secret documents was he hiding in these places?

Probably the folder with the “most sensitive” intel on russia.

The one, um, that’s still missing.

Hm, I wonder if there were any tiny d sympathizers within the FBI that were involved.

Time for a pre-dawn raid on that swamp of tiny d’s.

Let’s not forget the bigger problem here…

Not only did the FBI find thousands of illegally held documents, they found many many top secret folders without documents in them.
