I'm guessing it won't stop with undocumented people. Not when there are homeless. And the LGBT+. And non-Christians. And anyone who isn't white.

And anyone who opposes the regime. And anyone who maybe opposes the regime. And anyone who never opposed the regime but got denounced. And so on and so forth. History provides plenty of examples.

Don't forget us Jews. Whenever some wannabe dictator starts talking about the vermin in society, they inevitably wind up attacking Jews.

Oh, and they'll eventually attack Christians as well. They'll decide who is and who isn't Christian enough. Are you Catholic? Sorry, that's not the right form of Christianity. You're Baptist but don't go to church every week? Into the camp you go. You go every week, but your pastor spoke out against Trump? Into the camp for you!

No doubt some of that is being pushed by people who want Trump to win. I hate feeling like I don’t have a choice, but that’s kind of where we’re at now: an unhinged, legally cornered, autocratic Trump who is already threatening to turn America into a Christo-fascist dictatorship who will lock up his political enemies & immigrants, and will most likely push for out & out genocide in Palestine, OR an elderly Joe Biden, who has been the only semi-moderating force on Israel thus far (obviously he hasn’t gone far enough and have mostly given faint disapproval), but has otherwise been doing an ok-ish job the past few years (despite what the media says). It’s a shitty choice, but IMO too important to throw my vote away over a single issue.

It's insane to me that people are still treating this like a choice when it obviously is not. And sure, it sucks that it's not, let's try and fix that. But please, for the love of freedom and democracy and common sense and decency, don't make it easier for this fucking fascist Trump to actually get a second term. Because this asshole will not leave office this time around.

If you mention Biden being elderly without meaning Trump is basically the same age, or call Biden senile without mentioning that Trump is clearly far worse in that regard, you're carrying water for Trump.

One them has a proven track record of responsible behavior and surround themselves with excellent advisers who use actual facts and reason to make policy decisions. But he's three years older so let's go with the guy who's incoherent, malevolent, craven, and has never seen a success he couldn't turn into a failure.

You know, I never really considered the vital nature of the second ammendment until I read that. I won't own weapons personally, and I really dislike the idea of any weapon small enough to be concealed or easily used for self injury.

But I know plenty of "radical left" who own firearms, and I'm willing to bet that Trumps version of gestapo will have a very different outcome if he tries it.

You're joking, but nowadays there are "Christians" who complain that their pastor teaching them about turning the other cheek and such is "leftist propaganda".

They don't care about Jesus at all, it's all about tribalism.

When they were alone, the people around Jesus, along with the Twelve, asked him about the parables. 11 He said to them, “The secret of God’s kingdom has been given to you, but to those who are outside everything comes in parables. 12 This is so that they can look and see but have no insight, and they can hear but not understand. Otherwise, they might turn their lives around and be forgiven.

        Mark 4:10

I agree. He was really into it. He deliberately talks in a hard to understand manner so humans who don't get it will burn in hell.

I don't know if quoting a text in context that is aligned with other passages is really cherrpicking. Jesus is very much into revenge on people who don't follow him. If the man existed, which I don't think he did, he must have been insufferable. Demanding that everyone give up their life to follow him, absolute faith from his followers, absolute love from his followers, claiming no one can know anything at all except what he teaches. A narcissist to the hundredth power.

Not the message I took as a kid but I suppose I haven't been to church in decades unless it was for a funeral or wedding.

I guess when you are making a religion you have to make sure your literature confidently reinforces that yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory and those other mf'ers can go to hell.

Who's gonna build and maintain these camps? Have you seen the state of white people lately? We couldn't even get enough non-immigrant labor for food, let alone concentration camps. Plus NIMBY already hits hard on facilities that house undesirable populations, you think conservatives want to dedicate land near their own homes for immigrants? They're already busing and flying them away.

And, eventually as all these things tend to go, Jews like myself will get rounded up. They already use "Soros" and "globalists" to hide what they are really saying. If they get enough power, they'll stop with the code words and round up all Jews for some imagined global conspiracy against them.

Of course, most Jews are left of center, so many of us will have already been rounded up already.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

WASHINGTON, Nov 11 (Reuters) - Former U.S. President Donald Trump, if re-elected in 2024, would expand his first-term immigration crackdown to include sweeping roundups of people who would be held in large camps to await deportation, the New York Times reported on Saturday.

It described Trump's plans as "an assault on immigration on a scale unseen in modern American history" and said it aimed to deport millions of people every year, including those who have been settled in the United States for decades.

The Biden-Harris campaign in a statement called Trump's immigration plans "extreme, racist, cruel policies" that are "meant to stoke fear and divide us, betting a scared nation is how he wins this election."

He would revive other hardline policies, including a COVID-19 era rejection of asylum claims, although this time the refusals would be based on assertions that migrants carry other infectious diseases, it continued.

To aid U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in sweeping roundups of undocumented people, Trump would reassign federal agents and deputize local police and National Guard troops volunteered by Republican-run states, the report said.

Other parts of Trump's plan call for screening visa applicants for ideological views, revoking the temporary protected status of people from certain countries deemed unsafe, and trying to end the citizenship birthright for babies born in the United States to undocumented parents, the newspaper said.
