Can we just stand still for a second with how normalized Absurdity is?

Elevator only goes so far. You still have stairs to do.
That lazy ass is a volunteer spending their free time filtering our crap.
That mods (need to) exist is also a symptom of bigger issues, ideally we don’t need mods and are capable to self organized in a respectful way.
This is not reddit, you have the abilities to make a better science place on the fediverse, be the example of how you think it should be done. (Get off you lazy ass or understand that life for most is more then social media.
Its not perfect but its that freedom to disagree and build your own that sets us apart.
People having a laugh isn’t the problem.
There is a real problem with the thread format of social media however.
My proof is I can’t find the “in this discussion relevant” thread of masturbation jokes because time has moved on and so did the discussion. [Edit: your comment is only 1h old, so not sure whats up]
We need a much better way to organize our speech and discussions because a single scroll page sorted by time, or contextless votes ain’t doing it.
I actually noticed that some of my comments are reacted very different towards depending on the time of day, what side of planet earth is awake at the time.
There is an argument to be had that certain troll farms love to drown discussions in shitposts and maybe we should be more mindful of the patterns.
But to say we should crack down on any form of jokes, which are an important part of our human expression that goes too far, thats what i disliked about r/science
First, did you read even the research papers?
Secondly, none are out that are actually immune to jailbreaking lol, Where did that claim come from?
Gpt4 is just an llm. Indeed the better version of gpt3
Gpt4o and 1o (claude-sonnet possibly also) rely on the generative capacities of the gpt4 model but there is allot more going under the hood that is not simply “generate the next token”
We all agree that a pure text predictor are not at all intelligent.
The discussion at hand is wether the current frontier of ai has moved the needle up. And i still would call it pretty dumb, but moving that needle, it did. Somewhere around (x2y0.5) if i have to use the meme. Stating its (0,0) just means people aren’t interested enough to pay attention, that these aren’t just llm anymore. That’s their right but i prefer people stopped joining the discussion so uninformed.
How is good old fashioned code comparing outputs to a database of factual knowledge “predicting the next token” to you. Or reinforcement relearning and token rewards baked into models.
I can tell you have not actually tried to work with professional ai or looked at the research papers.
Yes none of it is “intelligent” but i would counter that with neither are human beings.
This is true if you describe a pure llm, like gpt3
However systems like claude, gpt4o and 1o are far from just a single llm, they are a blend of tailored llms, machine learning some old fashioned code to weave it all together.
Op does ask “modern llm” so technically you are right but i believed they did mean the more advanced “products”
Though i would not be able to actually answer ops questions, ai is hard to directly compare with a human.
In most ways its embarrassingly stupid, in other it has already surpassed us.
I cant really but i thought he was back on xhitter.
At that point the computers is promoted (or enslaved depending on pov) and called a (home) server.
One nuance. You don’t need to provide access from outside your home network if you don’t want to open the ports, i prefer that most of services remain local for security anyway. Once those ports are open, you or anyone else can connect to the services using your_external_ip_address:portnumber
You also dont need to run it 24/7, i started with a minecraft server that ran on planned times only, then a system that was online during afternoon-evening but not at night-morning.
It is also possible if not recommended, to use a vpn to tunnel in your network and than you can access everything just like if you where at home from anywhere.
If it all sounds intimidating, a laptop to try things out will do fine. Don’t expect a perfect polished system on first try, i have redesigned my network from scratch multiple times over the years. If you do want to get serious there are plenty of offices that have “old” desktop servers with pretty impressive hardware, the fans may make a lot of noise though.
The Hardware in my current home server is mostly parts that got upgraded in my main pc. I have reached a point where i am willing to sometimes spend extra money on what my partner sometimes dubs “my second pc” but it is also doing a lot for us at this point. Much cheaper then a store-bought NAS.
The competition is rough.
No, i think i get it but difficult to explain.
Say X, X, X in a row
Then say
Xylo , Xen, Xono
The Raw letter has different phonet-x to how it’s often applied.
When were talking about teaching kids the alphabet we need to train both individual and applied letters
I do realize that this might be very cultural and language dependent but i am pretty sure we’re talking plain english.
Autist here.
We have a long history opposing societal, including gender, norms. And have deep connections with the early lgbt movements. Many people on the spectrum identify as queer.
Its not a secret that Elon believes he is on the spectrum, and we know he has at least one queer child. We also know that people who are stuck in the closest often channel this through self hate and hate of others who express.
Now that is interesting. “High T Males” on the other hands are a total joke.
OMG i am not alone and people have tips here,
I am so exited for part 2 of my life.
Buy some actual good bags and store them in your car.
Op mentioned not living in the US so this may not be a legal option.
I am not sure about most of these but I remember a European discussion on wether pepperspray should be legal or not.
This was amazing to read, thanks.
THIS ARTICLE IS GASLIGHTING!
It talks about what Israel should do to keep peace in these ILLEGAL settlements. Basically giving geen light to law enforcement to act beyond borders.
It talks about western nations giving sanctions to settlement leaders… for violence. Giving credibility to these occupation if they where peacefull.
I am not all that suprised but fuck this is blatant.
Thing that everyone joked about (to mentally handle the horror) that was definitely going to really happen, happens.
Better late then never to stop it from happening I guess.
