We should never have allowed a pardon before a conviction. What Ford did for Nixon created all kinds of paradoxes.

We messed up when we allowed Ford’s pardon of Nixon before he was convicted. We should only allow pardons after the person was convicted. That created all kinds of paradoxes:

• creating a blanket pardon “from any crime that we don’t know yet about”
• possible pocket pardon, where a president could pardon themselves secretly
• hiring thugs on president benefit and giving pardon right before leaving office. They know they can do anything and will receive a blanket pardon. If president had to wait for conviction then there was no guarantee he would be there to pardon them. So it would make whole escapade more risky
• total immunity which trump is arguing about would be even less likely if there was no blanket and pocket pardon and he had to wait until being convicted before being able to be pardoned

He was going to face a trial and likely prison, but trump pardoned him and the rest.

Greed is preventing them. Our news are no longer news, those are entertainment stations looking for spectacle and trump provides plenty of it.

If our news would just report news, this actually l act wouldn’t be an issue.

I would encourage to subscribe and support real news sources that do actual real news reporting like AP, Reuters, NPR etc.

It’s actually more of the same in this case as well, this position was just easier to defend.

House arrest is not a penalty that would help him rehabilitate.

He needs an actual jail to learn anything.

At very least he should be doing community service. Maybe picking trash on a highway.

Judges can’t put you in jail if DA doesn’t bring charges and a jury won’t convict.

Canon is trying to do the reverse, using anything she has at her disposal for the trial to not happen as she knows that this case is pretty much an open shut case.

That’s why we have a trial by jury of peers.

An executive branch can issue a pardon, legislative branch can create a law making the crime no longer being a crime and impeach judges.

If those things are not enough, then we have a much more serious problem.

No, that won’t do any rehabilitation. It needs to be jailed or maybe cleaning the highway.

Can I remind you that trump declared he is running again after federal investigation started? This is why special counsel was appointed.

This particular case actually started when trump was still president. Cohen is a convicted felon that already served 3 years, because he helped trump commit this exact crime. Trump wasn’t indicted back then only because he was president at the time.

The business records fraud case (“hush money” is misleading what it was) is just the first case that nothing blocked it from proceeding.

Documents case is blocked by Canon, J6 is blocked by SCOTUS, I guess the Georgia case could proceed too, but was maybe more complicated than this one.

It’s not like she is already against prosecution. I don’t believe it could be any more partisan than it already is.

As for delay her last ruling essentially made it indefinite.

As you said, this would require an additional action.

And to me it looks like it can’t be done by EO and would have to be a legislation. And during trump very few legislations got passed even when they had a majority.

The restrictions on sale through Mexico can be implemented when it actually is a problem.

I found an article where they announced a factory in Mexico, but it first have to be built. The news also appears to be before the sanctions were announced. So if that factory was meant for US market this could change their plans, as adding 100% sanctions signals determination to plugin other loopholes.

What’s with that?

I recently read an article that he is allowing to install China’s face tracking cameras in Hungary. I first thought that he was installing it for his own benefit and just got the technology from China, but this actually will be used by China.

While I might grasp his unexplained love for putin, this looks like just selling your country to foreign autocracies.
