Show: Love, Death and Robots. It’s fantastic but some of the episodes just hit too hard. I’ll eventually get back to it, I just need some time
Game: Cyberpunk. I was looking something up and found out what happens to Evelyn. I kinda look like her a bit, and have also dealt with (much milder) issues in the same category. Too brutal
Movie: I actually watched it all the way, but the first time I watched American Beauty is just fucked me up for like, a week
I’ve already watched it, but my husband and I are going through it again because he hasn’t seen it. We binge watch most shows, but Mr. Robot is HEAVY and it gets heavier and weirder until the end.
My advice while watching it is to detach from the characters. Accept that anyone can die at any moment, often horribly, but know that the ending is bitter-sweet and that the show is absolutely worth the watch
My husband (one of the most trustworthy and responsible people I know- flaws and all) has been talking about getting a concealed-carry permit.
My argument against it, is that if there is an active shooter and he also pulls out his gun to take them out, the cops or other permit-owners might not realize that he’s the “good guy” and he (or I, if I’m nearby) could get shot instead.
He went silent, and seemed to spend a lot of time thinking about it after I’d shared my thoughts. Thus far he hasn’t tried to obtain one

The problem is that younger people often don’t vote. So chasing their votes is a losing strat. Younger citizens need to actually get out there and make sure that they are casting votes, otherwise they will continue to not be taken seriously
Yeah, my husband and I tend to trade off playing during 1-player games, and I’d essentially toss the controller at him each time there was an enemy. He got to the point of “fuck this, I’m running” (Though we haven’t played in a while due to the nausea I get from it)

I like the game but I can’t deal with the nausea. Idk what it is about it, (I suspect it’s the rain) but within minutes I feel sick and need to go lay down. My husband has no issues with it. We’re probably about 30% through.
I love the weirdness of the story. The voice acting is pretty good. The environment is immersive, and I’ll remember that cake scene forever. (But the boat controls suck, combat isn’t fun and doesn’t add anything to the game, and I’m not a fan of having to run to a point in order to fast travel)

You can’t pass debt onto a child in the US. The only way that happens is inheritance/assets (say they have a house they owned and $100k in the bank then the creditors can lay claims to that) but if there’s nothing but debt then the debt dies with them

I have one and it’s exquisite. My husband had originally proposed with a dull, heart-shaped blood-diamond that cost him about 10k. I think he could tell that I didn’t like it, and told me it could be returned.
I felt bad for not liking the first, but worse about the thought of some poor lil kid digging it up in Africa. We found a synthetic diamond that is PERFECT and glitters like crazy. I’m extremely happy with my synthetic diamond ring. It’s the prettiest piece of jewelry that I’ve ever owned. Highly recommended
This is going to sound insane, but I can’t get rid of Medi-cal. I did need it during covid because my insurance was tied to work and I was living with some elderly folk. I kept it when I moved in with my (then) boyfriend because I was in an area where I struggled to find a job. But then we got married, and I have been on his insurance for more than a year. I’ve called (even spoken to a few people), and I’ve written letters, but they just keep renewing it. Most recently I tried calling again but I gave up after waiting for an hour.
I couldn’t even use it if it wanted to because my name is different now, but the fact that I can’t communicate with them to let them know that I don’t need it is frustrating
And that made me wonder. I can’t get through to them to tell them that I don’t need it, right? How the hell does someone who DOES need it get through to get some help?
In “3rd world” African countries, kids are still often used for labor so it’s beneficial for families to have more children. I believe India has taken over China’s place as the most populated area. There are also countries like Aghanistan, with rulers who have banned birthcontrol - although given the exodus when the U.S. bailed, I don’t know where they stand growth-wise rn

Seems to make sense. My guess is that most of the unvaxxed people that were gonna die from Covid have already died. Some people have become immuno-compromised after 2020, and so they are still dying, but most of them might already have an immunity built up through having caught it and survived. So it’s likely those older, already vaxxed (but immuno-compromised) folks that are now being taken out by the newer mutations of the virus
(Again, i’m guessing, but it seems to make sense)
