These worthless jerks are always on about state’s rights. except when they aren’t, and cannot put together a legitimate argument either way.

Isn’t this the same guy that said some off color stuff while roasting Tom Brady? That guy’s name was Tony, and it was pretty heinous at times.
Great example! See this for example with him…
Well dang, I’ve spent my whole life around people who lived this, but never been one. I’m still bummed. I’m sure the actual community is. 84 is a pretty good run, tho.
Another “as a black man”
I’m from this state but I want to control another state’s politics because that is normal /s
Well I just spent 30 minutes or so reading about this (on Wikipedia) and am not surprised to see names like Hearst involved. I will admit that I was skeptical about your statement, but it is clear that journalism in the US has a long history of problems and big money ownership. We do need reform, and perhaps that is even more evident in the internet and big money era. Thanks for posting that statement!
Thanks for breaking it down! It’s been a long time since management degree law classes.
😑 and it only applies to people, right? Not estates?
Can someone libel a dead person?
While I have no answers, this is exactly what we should expect when business owners control media.
We saw this after 9/11 in the US. Most folks don’t care about issues, only about looking as if they do. It isn’t anything new, just continued consumerism to represent the politics people want to wear on their sleeve.
Good. There is scarcely any reason to change rules late in the game. To do so serves only one purpose, and it isn’t honest.
When I worked for Walmart 25 or so years ago, they supposedly had something like this, but it manifested as us worrying about getting in trouble. Not sure if that was legit but I was pretty young and didn’t interact with them.
The waffle house I ate at, they did have higher ups come in, and they had to serve and what not. The folks working there seemed to like it but idk I just was a regular, never officially worked.
I read a different article, but my suspicion is that they expect more clarity to come out of further lower court action. I still think they will block it, but maybe they dont see any impact on the election or critical importance now forcing them to act. I’m not sure. I doubt they care about grandkids but am sure you know that 🙂
I’m not sure if it applies to journalism, but when I do things like write reports about medicals I was involved in, I write like that. Usually because that person goes on to definitive care and I don’t know how they fared. Patient was found in this location, services were called, patient was transported to hospital. It feels robotic, but idk how best to handle it.
I dont like that voting third party in the US is essentially a non-vote for a party in the “system,” but it is. I voted green party in the past, and ended up regretting it. And relavent to Stein, not a good person, or even party, to vote for now. Folks need to be active, and vote down ballot, and in “off cycle” years. Change takes time, the best way to be heard is through the down ballot when helpful.
I’ll admit that I dont understand the now long running deal with speed running things like this, but if done safely and respectfully, I also dont see the harm. What is important is impact to the resource, and that is the main issue. That transcends folks like this. If she can pass that ethic along with this record, I’m for it.
It’s a major world city with a history of corruption. All of this is big. There may even be others involved we don’t know about.
The Hill has been putting out some worse takes than usual.
