This is one of the problems with the public mod log that Lemmy has. Transparency is one of the worst things to have when dealing with bad faith actors since it’s nothing but a public record of their “accomplishments.” It won’t stop shitty mods from being shitty.

One of the problems with the public mod log on a federated site is a moderator can just write something egregious for the ban reason and then the user is stuck with that. It propagates across instances too. I have a huge list of banned users who I never actually banned, and I assumed were banned by other instance moderators.

Having a lot of features to try to thwart bad moderation on a federated platform isn’t really that important anyway since it’s easy for anyone to simply create their own instance and users can migrate there.

There’s another glitch where you mass produce shitty guns and then take them to buybacks run by the server moderators. You need to be careful because the moderators will try to trick you into admitting that you made the guns for the buyback, which requires joining a manufacturer’s guild and you can get banned for it. You have to play it off like you just make them constantly and had them sitting around.

Aside from religion, it’s objectively better.

PC gaming isn’t that expensive right now anyway, depending on the level of performance that you want. I have a computer presumably without a dedicated graphics processor that runs Fallout 4 well. It will run Fallout 3 at consistent 60 fps at 720p.

Depending on how new the game is and whether or not you turn down the graphics, it’s not that expensive to get a gaming PC.
