I have this vpn because it comes for free with my Google Drive subscription. I have never used it because it does not do what I expect it to do
- privacy, it’s Google.
- pretend to be in a different country is not available

“I can’t get any joy from the work anymore. I used to get joy from it. Don’t get me wrong, the colleagues are nice and all”
Probably most of your colleagues will agree with you and nobody gets offended.
I think it is because a dog has been seen as an object or tool for a long time. We are the owner. We buy the one that we like the most.
With humans we don’t have ownership over another human. The human is owned by itself. So we let everyone decide for themselves who the want to breed with. One person will select a partner that is nice, some like a “bad boy”, some like dark hair, blond, tall short, etc.
Also, humans are really not that different from each other while dogs can look like a completely different species.
I need to stay awake some time during the night to feed the baby or support my wife doing it. I always fight against the sleep and that is when the pre-sleep dreams are really getting weird. What is happening a lot is that I read something and half way the sentence I fall half asleep and at that point, my mind completes the sentence(s) with the weirdest things.
It depends in the country you are.
If you want to show of your skills, why not write an article about it. This way you don't publish company property (maybe only snippets of code) and the viewer can read your reasons on why you made certain decisions.
But do not do this without consent of the company. If the company likes it, you could even start your article something along the lines of "here at %company% we like to write good code…". Than it is a win-win. I see this a lot on sites like medium.com
That was a good read. Thanks for the link.
What if someone sets up an instance, make a post and manipulate the upvotes? Just give it a million upvotes. That would break the whole system…
Or a bit more subtle, every upvote is multiplied by 10.
That was an awesome game. I remember playing it with my friends and if you hit the top 10, we would write our name with 'the best'.
It also had a level editor. I created one with a lot of jumps.
Good times!
I'm using a simple cheap usb switcher (Aten 2 x 4 USB 2.0 Switch). I have connected a mouse, keyboard, card reader. One machine is connect to the monitor via hdmi and the other via display port. I simply switch video via the buttons on the monitor. The third machine is a laptop that is not connected to the monitor.
A dedicated KVM would be a better option but I'm not willing to spend that much money.
That is an awesome sentence. I will use that one some time.
I personally think that everything has always gone to shit. But in the downfall, new things will take over until that goes to shit. Or maybe because there are new things the old things will go down.
Take the example of video stores. They used the be the best thing ever. Rent all the movies you would like to see for a small fee per movie. Then downloading and streaming came along. Streaming was cheaper and more convenient. Result: video renting business went to shit.
Then the streaming services started to raise their prices. It started going to shit. Soon new ideas/companies/services will swoop in and the cycle will repeat again.
Also all the tracking and analysis tools that are integrated in most ecommerce are huge. We made a website for a company that was really fast and snappy. Then they added all their tools and it turned into a slug.
Maybe woodworking? It can get dusty and you need some room but you can also make smaller things that don’t need big power tools or a lot of room. Like miniature things.
Or computer programming. Create an app. Or do something fun like follow one of the coding challenges from the YouTube channel The Coding Train
