Wish that the mirror designs you see on trucks for towing was standard, having that second parabolic mirror with a standard mirror is amazing and I’ve had that as my setup forever now on a small car, can see everything in those.

Something like this setup also takes getting used to but seriously worth it.

Totally fair, awareness is a big thing too, fire crews are professionals so I do think they made the best choice with what they were given, every firefighter I’ve met will absolutely do an assessment before doing anything.

Don’t know their situation, were they just told vehicle fire not lithium fire? Maybe more lithium specific crews/equipment in the future, maybe battery compartments that can help contain? (As I said, with lithium batteries I’ve worked with in the past, pressure vessels, if they went off it was at least contained to inside that, they’d vent gasses still but at least the threat of fire was minimised)

There’s already tools to deal with lithium fires, class D fire extinguishers, sand and vermiculite. When I worked heavily with lithium non-rechargables we had lithium disaster plans for fires, explicitly in that was alerting fire fighters that it’s a combustible metal fire so they can react accordingly, those fires need to be smothered afaik, water was a big no no.

Generally though, the plan was, escape and enforce a quarantine zone because primary cells give off nasty stuff, if you can drop it in a bucket of vermiculite if it’s out of the containment vessels and pretty much let them do their thing. Then once it seems like it’s done, wait more time to make sure it’s actually safe with 30 minute gas tests, then package them for safe transport.

I’ve seen it mentioned that ryzen is more memory speed sensitive, seen Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 X 8GB) DDR4 3600 MHz CL16 kit for £35 on UK amazon, see a 32 GB kit for £60 for 3600, £52 for 3200. 32 is super overkill for most people still (shit I recall when 16GB was considered overkill), but it’s cheap enough that it’s harder to say it’s a waste imo.

Side note, GOW is what sold me on hdr and was the game that got me to upgrade from a 780ti and 3rd gen i5, literally couldn’t even run the game.

My partner and I gave up destiny before witchqueen dropped, played pretty consistently since house of wolves with a pause just before forsaken until shadow keep. Absolutely loved the core mechanics and the PvP is some of my favourite, but it just felt so stale, barely any new maps, sunsetting old ones, lack of committing to ideas (4v4 was actually solid, some of the maps do not play well in 6s, 3s are fine though), rotating gamemode playlists like d1 had (for 6s I find control annoying after a while, 3s I liked relic in d1, mix in elimination and I’d be good)

It’s a shame because as I said, core mechanics rock, slug shorties and hand cannons feel amazing, and fusion rifles are legitimately awesome as well. I have really solid memories of doing stupid things with stuff like the Le Monarque and No Land Beyond. Wasn’t a huge fan of some metas but had some fun times with the games.

While I like Mark Meer for his voice work in other Bioware games (Jade Empire for sure, also I don’t dislike maleshep at all) and his work on stuff like the irrelevant show, Jennifer Hale is just fantastic to the point where renegade femshep is to me the cannon version of Shepard

Legit have never had an issue with multi boot and windows like ever, tbf I don’t go into windows that frequently anymore but it’s never given me grief in at least a decade. I know my experience isn’t universal though, so sorry to anyone who does have boot issues after windows updates.

In the worst case, could use bcdedit and use the windows boot loader (tbh I have no idea if that works here, but could be worth a try)

Some monitors have inbuilt KVM switches, have an MSI ultrawide (model escapes me sorry) I bought a few years ago that I use to flip between usbc and dp. Configurable though, could set it up to flip between HDMI and DP and assign usb to whatever one I prefer. It’s way nicer than the switch + swapping inputs manually I had been using.

Why does that image only have the sun and the rebel from Canadian media? Both are given more credibility than they deserve, the rebel in particular has history, bunch of white supremacists and alt right personalities were or are still involved, publication absolutely stokes hate and fear.

My dad was big into Sierra an Apogee so of what I can recall, be one of the incredible machine, king’s quest 6, duke nukem 2 or command keen. Also remember playing math and word rescue at like… 5, shareware was more than enough to keep me occupied at that age. First console game though was altered beast on the genesis.

I’m still stuck mostly on 1.7.10 and 1.12.2 modpacks, I don’t play as much these days though.

I was originally going to to go the docker route but honestly just ended up going the binary route and leaving it using sqlite as it’s good enough for now. It’s pretty well documented and a chunk of the prereqs I already had, like the git user creation.

Did have SSH auth issues though, probably becauae I didn’t fully cleanup after uninstalling gitlab (oops), had them in parallel for a bit to migrate the repos, gitlab had it trying to use gitlab-shell which didn’t exist anymore. Probably a better/proper solution but what worked was changing the git user’s home directory back to /home/git as gitlab had it using a gitlab config directory. I welcome anyone giving me a better/cleaner solution for this, on my to do list to do some more cleanup.

I just flipped my home git to forgejo from gitlab, gitlab just had a bunch of features I wasn’t using, forgejo was easy to setup and it has a nice interface. I’m just using it for source control right now, still probably huge overkill but eh

That “at least 4%” bit makes that even worse. Just look at the List of miscarriage of justice cases on Wikipedia, it’s not not exhaustive and it’s huge, I cannot morally or ethically justify capital punishment on that alone, the whole state-sanctioned murder bit just makes it even more horrific.

That’s me as well, I’ve used vim for simple edits over the years but more and more just used nano for most of my terminal based edits. Finally ran vimtutor (mainly because I wasn’t aware of it) and wow, I should have done that years ago.
