On one hand: Now that’s loud & clear communication. On the other hand, “Just don’t” really ties in to the stereotype of Dutch directness/rudeness.
On one hand I want to upvote you, because OP will really have a much better chance at getting good support there.
On the other hand I want to downvote you for just “forwarding their call” to another forum, instead of helping directly. (I’ve had bad experiences with unhelpful Linux communities where people basically just tried to find the quickest way to move someone out of their support channel)

Sadly, Apple is doing ARM CPUs for desktop/laptop PC incredibly well, and at a cheaper price than just about any competitor.
Before the Macbook Pro M1 I would’ve hard agreed with you, but this sentiment no longer goes with the current ARM PC’s that they’re selling.
And decently easy to repair / have repaired at a computer shop, wether its the battery, RAM, CPU, keyboard, screen, or any and I mean ANY of the external connectors!

I’ve been using a Dell XPS-15 9560 for over six years now, the keyboard needed to be cleaned after four years and and the charging port needed to be replaced (€10 inc service) recently. The battery no longer lasts 11 or so hours but it lasts 2 or so which I’ll take, for about €100 I could replace just the battery.
All of which, for how fast devices tend to break on me, is an incredibly good mileage I’d say!
And oh yeah, whatever Linux I’ve been distro hopping to has worked swimmingly!
FYI 12.5" is the diagonal, it’s going to be much narrower
I feel people used to having more RAM always recommended insane amounts of RAM. 4 GB gets you by running a browser or PDF viewer with a code editor, 8 or more GB is recommended IMO.
