That was my thought too. I heard a take about how we may see us shift away from GPUs to purpose built PUs as a way to continue process progress now we’re getting pretty small on the silicon scale. Neural nets may be one of these special “PU”s we see.
Ah Florida, the Australia of the northern hemisphere.
Could be, or the meme was started and was boosted because of what you said above.
I’d hear you — but the alternative is a fucking yikes my guy.
Things are getting a little wild down here in Florida with no signs of slowing down.
I’m on a similar system for work, it’s not nearly as bad. Maybe thirty seconds or so?
That’s fair — I view the two as severity.
I’m youngish, and as I started my thirties I started to notice the most common thing with the young is they wield political theory a bit too homogeneously.
Like, when I realized I was a lefty in my twenties every issue started to be framed in how capitalism was the noxious root of the problem, but I lacked the real world context where pointing that out wasn’t helpful.
Now if someone came along with information that confirmed my perspective I used less scrutiny— because they were “like me” and “we’re one of the ‘good’ guys so they wouldn’t lie to me.” Now, I’m unsure if aging is going to make this better or worse tho 😅 I’m just more aware of it now.
Aren’t conspiracies spread on social media proliferating through the older demographic? I don’t think it’s unique to age.
May I introduce: War Gaming :)
True, but to my limited recollection it's the right losing their minds more frequently. See Gamergate .
As a Floridian homie: good. There’s so much to experience in the world. I put the US in the “overhyped tier”
I suspect it’s a function of engagement. Trump’s edictments are hot, so some will click on anything vaguely related to it. Even reporting on chirping does the trick since people want more of the “story” even though it’s not a development.
That was the stat that stood out to me, and made me wonder if there’s something within the “MAGA” mind that explained it.
Oh yeah, I usually mod games like WoW or w.e. so the file structure lends to it being easily modded.
Hmm. This case comes up for me regularly. I usually have a hidden file on level lower than my home directory that is linked to the directory in question. I then launch nautilus, and drag and drop as needed.
If it happens often enough I create a bash script that automatically launches nautilus at that location.
Is it better? Prolly not, but it’s how I do it 😅
In response to the edit: I notice you pivoted from it being a function of “maturity” and placement relative to puberty, to now wrapping it in concern of the gov’t - some how - surpressing “lgbtq rights” by teaching about their existence, which is a contradictory stance, but w.e.
Look, my sister’s trans, my mothers are gay, and I’m the straight dood in my family. I’m not in a hivemind, and my experience watching them wade through life informs my thoughts. Your appeal that people who disagree with you are in one is troubling, to say the least.
Heck, you didn’t even address a few anecdotes of people being precisely in the age range you had issue with, and instead chose to take a different tact – instead doubling down you are correct.
I usually click around the gui like a ham-fisted animal
I search in the terminal.
The tasks are separate for me. I usually launch the explorer at pwd to do my clicks, and close it.
I’ll test this stuff out of curiosity later tonight!!
It occurs to me now I never searched for anything through the explorer.
You know, I’d fuck with it. It would be kind of incredible to watch a cook improv insane suggestions from an AI, if they’re on-board and compensated, etc, etc.
