@OriginalThinker@lemmy.ml, I'm responding to your DM here.
We don't move posts to the correct community because Lemmy doesn't have that option - and I'd rather you got to choose where your content lands.
As for why we don't reach out and tell people - this is a volunteer job on a big community. We rely on the mod log and allow this kind of meta post to stay up for transparency and discussion. Otherwise, we focus on following the rules laid out so that this community can stay within its intended scope. This is a community for open questions and discussion - not support.
I'm sorry you don't feel welcomed - that's tough. However, communities come with their own rules and mods will make sure they're enforced. I'd recommend checking those rules carefully before posting in the future as that will help the reception of your post.
This is more of a support question, related to using Lemmy. Please see the sidebar for a list of communities that offer support. Removing under rule #3.

I access Lemmy through the browser all the time. The experience is solid and consistent across devices and I need access to both mod and (occasionally) admin tools.
We could - but we're still getting comments here. Why not continue to use this thread and sort by new?
Also - this topic doesn't even really belong in Asklemmy per the rules. If anything, I'm more inclined to unpin it and return to dealing with posts as needed.
It's not just the mods but the admins going to lengths to keep their instances clean. The awfulness outlined in that post means I'm not sure I should keep hosting my own instance.
I really want a waffle now.
Locking this thread under rule #2 - we don’t have the bandwidth to mod a political discussion. If you want to have this discussion, please use one of the communities speficially for that purpose.

Yeti here, too - must be at least three years now. The base has a few dents but otherwise going strong.

Late 30s, learned to drive in NL and now live in SE. Initially learned about transmissions by running around on four wheelers. I drive a manual car every day. There’s a lot of fun and connection to driving manual, though I see the ease and efficiency of the automatic transmission as well as the general trend.
Walk away and take a breath.
Also, will this really matter to me:
That helps to put challenging situations into perspective.
Interesting topic but missing a clear, open question for discussion. Removing per rule #1.
Fountain pens - I started with a 30 euro Parker but it seems like just one is never enough.
Knitting is expensive for me because I love to start projects but I’m not great at finishing them. Good quality yarn really isn’t cheap.

This is more of a support question, related to using Lemmy. Please see the sidebar for a list of communities that offer support. Given that there is useful info in the comments, locking instead of removing per rule #3.
Please see the sidebar, third link in the section about communities. Removing per rule #3.
