The problem is that without those exclusive deals noone would change

Most people didn’t buy EA games at origin or Ubisoft games at UPlay even though you needed those launchers anyway. They even didn’t buy CDProjekt games at gog despite the games being dem free there.

Excluding deals on sought after games is literally the only way to get a majority of the players moving away from there comfortable “I have ally games and friends there already” position

People are lazy and hate change - without force it’s not going to happen

Let’s also not forget that game developers have no choice but to release on steam if they want to have any chance on breaking even since they have that huge of a market share and that Epic challenging that already lead to better deals for developers since Valve hat virtually free reign before

  • Case in point “luxury” clothes that cost insane amounts of money just because they have labels printed on them for everyone to see and not because.the fabric is particularly great.

Sure it’s good quality but not better than what you get for half the price and not even close to the custom tailored stuff the really rich people wear…

Really don’t understand how people spend a fortune to walk around advertising for Gucci, LV, etc…

  • why else would this be one of the only countries where officers are lethally armed around the clock

Because it’s also the only country where many citizens are lethally armed around the clock I’d guess

If you stop a random person in traffic in Europe for routine control then it’s extremely unlikely that they have a gun in their car and even less likely that they will pull it on you.

If you are permanently having to think about scenarios where random people pull a gun on you because it’s not a very unlikely situation to happen then it’s not unreasonable to expect certain paranoia to start to form…

While the stats for “people killed by police” are always shown around I’d guess that the “police killed by citizens” also is much higher in the US.

Gun control is the only solution that even has a chance to remove this spiralling violence of trigger happy cops imho

  • While money doesn’t but happiness the absence of money surely makes happiness almost impossible with how much you always have to worry about different stuff…

I’m very thankful to be in a position where I don’t have to worry about which supermarket has the cheapest groceries as I know I can afford it if it’s 10% more expensive than it needs to be - seeing my mom spending hours going through ad-magazines to figure out where to buy what only to save a handful of euros is something I’m very glad I don’t have to do

  • The most basic difference between “left” and “right” on the political spectrum is that left-leaning people believe every human is worth the same and should get the same chances while right wing people believe humans are fundamentally different and the ones on the top deserve their place as much as the ones on the bottom.

That’s also why so many libertarians (or just recently proclaimed anarcho capitalists) are actually right-wing since they believe in unequal distribution of chances and quality of life based on capitalist principles and it’s also why moderates that claim to be neither right nor left usually lean more right
