Yeah, the illustration shows nothing, we don’t know which side is which anyway.

I see, so you mean manually getting the password out of the manager instead of domain based autofill.
What do you mean a password manager that checks the domain? Isn’t the auto fill based on the domain? I can’t imagine how a password manager could fill a password without checking the domain, it wouldn’t know which password to fill after all. Do any actually exist?
That’s only useful though if someone looking for this function also happens to be looking for a tiling window manager. I assume most people needing this don’t want a tiling window manager.
What do you suggest would go wrong? I never even gave Steam my name, so how would they even know it’s different?
Give one example (with a source)
No, it’s not. It’s part of React internals that you shouldn’t use because your app will break. It’s a warning for developers using React. It’s not a secret of any kind.
Agree, I just wouldn’t call that “never willingly using proprietary software”.
Even Stallman said games are an unfortunate, but reasonable exception. Of he can see it, anyone can.
I wish that was possible, but it’s not feasible to get a lot done on a 15 year old ThinkPad or whatever, that doesn’t have any proprietary firmware.
Yes, and what does it change for the purpose of this post? The question wasn’t what’s the best software you use in your leisure time for non-work purposes.
What aren’t you happy to financially support creators of open source software you like?
Why? I’d be happy to give them a defense that obviously won’t work. Otherwise someone else could’ve get them a better one.
So that if you leave the room to make yourself a tea or something while the game is loading, your won’t miss the cut scene / beginning of the action / lose the game because it started without you present.
I hope we will get to the bottom of this, because all the armchair experts with tons of different explanations for how this happened are annoying. There are so many people confidently explaining different conflicting theories.
so who cares
All the other people who do use one?
Every so often someone posts something on Lemmy or somewhere else which contains a Twitter link that’s interesting or relevant, and so there is value in me visiting it. Just because I don’t “use” Twitter doesn’t mean I don’t end up reading a Twitter post every so often, because other people use it.
Sure it’s possible, but it’s not practical.
