I down voted for the deep state comment and the general both sides nature of your comments.

Aren’t they just moving on to calling it climate apocalypse cause climategeddon was already taken.
This is so confusing. I thought the DOJ due to the existence of a memo would not charge a sitting president with a crime, period. So why are these republicans wasting tax payer bucks on these investigations?
As far as releasing the tape, just do what they did with the Mueller report and lock it in a tiny room with severely restricted access. The republicans can have a cassette tape of the interview and a record player to listen, but they only get 3 minutes, and no phones or any other recording devices.
I guess if you live in an already decided stronghold state then go vote for whatever you want. Otherwise, don’t let a fantasy get in the way of the only obvious option if you like democracy.
I’d be curious if anyone is doing an accounting of the total take though. I get that his campaign isn’t raising as much money, but how many sneakers did they sell? I’m assuming they sold a few bibles and I’d assume he has his fingers in the 2 billion Kushner took for “investments.”
We have an over emphasis on finance in our system. After off shoring everything for decades we got cheaper goods for a while and with the dollar as the world’s currency we got to export a lot of our inflation. On the shorter time frame we’ve pumped a ton of money into the system. The powers that be could’ve put that money to work building out manufacturing instead the money went into assets and now stocks and houses are really expensive. So basic inflation is going on too much money chasing too few goods and it is because the big inflation has been going on in assets. And the deflation from technology has about run its course, everyone has a smart phone and a flat screen TV.
This is the end result of 40+ years of pushing the tax burden onto the middle class all in a massive transfer of wealth from the public to the private. The elites have captured the political system to benefit themselves and the rest of us just watch as our institutions are slowly dismantled. Meanwhile what are we investing in actually building? Infrastructure… not really. Better social safety nets… hell no. We are investing in making more weapons… because this is what happens when a small group of elites has too much control in a system we the little guys end up fighting their stupid wars.
sorry for the long essay.
Does this site have chats now? I thought it was just posts like an old school forum from like the 90s.
The American fascist party isn’t even trying to hide it anymore.
They still need consumers though right? I mean they can’t automate that away can they? Cause I consume a lot of stuff and it takes a fair amount of effort, also it is like the only thing I am really good at.
There was a brief record scratch moment when the abortion ban stuff happened, but the trumpers I know got right back on the bandwagon and are now talking “white replacement theory.”
Didn’t we just do a whole pandemic where a bunch of folks were overflowing with rage for doctors and healthcare workers?
I’m not against liberals picking up a few guns and gun related skills, but the wars of the present and near future will be fought with drones.
Not really. The stock market doing great is the result of low interest rates, massive tax cuts for the wealthy and corporation, and the recent covid money printing. All of that money, that the wealthy hoard, needed somewhere to go and it went into assets like stocks and housing.
The solution is to tax the corporations and wealthy. Take that money and put it back into society. For example, by fixing our infrastructure, funding our schools, and medicare for everyone. The beauty of being early in this hyperinflation cycle is that we can make actual policy decisions to reverse course before it is too late.
I think a fair few of these people don’t see the very fine line that Biden is stuck walking. He really doesn’t want to see that lobby money head to Trump’s campaign. And the people pissed at Biden not doing more for the people in Gaza seem to ignore that the alternative is Trump, who will likely just not care.
This sucks for the kids that were already going to fight in the water wars of the 2030s and WWIII, because why not add a new christian crusade to the list.
Well that is just silly instead of turning it off they should just mine some crypto.
I disagree. Those clowns are a major part of the reason we are in this mess in the first place. They had plenty of time and opportunities to stop this nonsense and they decided to be spineless wimps. What we needed at minimum were the congress members that got on the phone with Nixon and told his ass to resign. At the very least they had respect for their positions and some respect for the rule of law.
The current batch are trash, the party owns them. And their constituents and oath of office fall somewhere 6 feet below Cancun.
Politics explained simply is about who gets what and when they get it.
Or the little twerp could’ve followed the law and not be out past curfew brandishing a firearm.
Until we actually remove republicans and republican lites from the legislature I highly doubt we’ll see any progressive tax reforms, like actually taxing the rich. You could probably find more support for expanding house buying programs. Stuff like lowering the down payment requirements, and or give a large grant for a portion of the house value if it is high and it could be clawed back at sale.
