It’s the best scripting language I know of, but man I hate dynamically types languages. I am so used to rust and C/C++ that reading any large script or program will drive me insane
And the whitespace instead of {} tokens…

Sorry, but you weren’t the type I thought you were all the time
Your kitchen knives are vegan?!?!? But aren’t they naturally omnivores???
Fact checking will only work on people who care about facts, and those people aren’t the problem. Though stopping doing it won’t exactly help the situation either
Does fact checking even work anymore? At this point it almost feels like a waste of time, and maybe even counterproductive.
Like, it doesn’t matter how hard I fact check things anymore. It doesn’t matter how many statistics I can pull out, or how simple and factual my response is.
People want to be wrong. Their mind is made up and their desire to have that opinion is unflinching. Fact checks might not even reach them in their corners of the internet. Telling someone who is choosing to be wrong that they are wrong will not do anything.
I honestly don’t know what to do instead, this seems like it is going to need something that is basically cult deprogramming.
The amount of malpractice done by the police department and ag combined with the fact they state that it was possibly a discredited/disgraced police officer that actually did the killing makes it look like there was a coverup going on.
And the fact that people fought to keep her in prison? Disgusting.

Idk what genres you like so here’s a few recommendations across a few genres. On phone so no links.
I’ve been obsessing over Hiræth lately, probably one of the best albums I have ever heard. It’s not a metal album, but it scratches that itch I have for metal, so it’s going on this list lol
I mean, that is a definition of rights.
Rights that can be instantly taken away mean almost nothing. What good is my right to do something, such as be queer, when a bunch of cishet people can just say “alright, now you can’t exercise your right to be enby or trans or otherwise gender non-conforming, or be in a non-heteronormative relationship because a large enough portion of bigots decided you can’t.”
Those rights don’t mean shit unless they can’t be taken away. If they can, they are little more than privileges granted to us from cishet people because they felt bad for being oppressive.
If your rights can be determined by other people you do not have rights
I’ve always heard stories of shit going down at walmart, but I’ve never seen it.
Dennys, on the other hand…
The nearest winco to me is a country away ;_;
I wish I could shop at a unionized store or a worker-owned place but none exist near me for groceries.
I loved shopping at 2 am. It was basically me, nighttime truckers, and people who worked weird shifts stopping by after work. When I shop in the day the aisles are congested and shelves occasionally need a restock, and checkout lines out take forever (looking at you costco)
Tenant unions and rent strikes are wild. There was a funny reddit screenshot that was going around during the pandemic that I cannot find, but I remember it being the icon for a podcast, which I found and linked. It’s a good source on what rent strikes could do and critiques of its use.
That’s a fun mistake to make. I had a similar thing happen with Kubuntu uninstalling my GPU drivers. I could never figure out what caused it.
If you can’t own it, you might as well “steal it”
But hey, property is theft anyways so who the fuck cares if I copy media without paying the ghouls who “own” the work made by other people they pay pennies of their dollar
I’ve run into the same problem with an API server I wrote in rust. I noticed this bug 5 minutes before a demo and panicked, but fixed it with a 1 second sleep. Eventually, I implemented a more permanent fix by changing the simplistic io calls to ones better designed for streams
I’m gonna have to snag that doom book. I love low level programming and I’ve heard a lot about how hacky game dev used to be and that just excites me
Exactly.
I use it a lot on my systems for very simple scripts because I am significantly more experienced in python compared to bash.
I remember getting given a 10k line python script which “was the documentation” for an API i had to interact with using powershell. I hated life so much because of that stupid project.
