  • OR, ya’ll are missing the joke entirely, in that he doesn’t think he’s ‘punching down’… nore is he making fun of who you think he is.

In fact, the joke is at the expense of people like those in this thread who are getting bent out of shape taking words out of context. It was tailor made to upset YOU, specifically. YOU, and your unnecessary outrage, are the butt of the joke. He’s mocking those who go overboard with the virtue signaling, and you all here are taking the bait hook, line & sinker.

There is a problem right now with self elected ‘thought police’ trying to remove all discourse, and that is VERY unhealthy for a liberal society. Totalitarianism is not healthy, no matter what your motivation is. Sacred cows are ALWAYS something to be targeted by comedy & satire, and the left wing totalitarianist word/thought police are very much a valid target, every bit as much as the MAGA idiots. For society as a whole, they are equally as dangerous, the end goal is the same but with different underlying motivations.

That being said, the special was lackluster. It felt like he was contractually obligated to give Netflix another special by the end of 2023 but didn’t have enough material yet & even what he had wasn’t very polished.

  • Because it's shit.

If I apt install an app, I expect it NOT to be a snap. I want it to use shared libraries, not bring its own along. They hide from you that they are installing the snap not deb package.

Then you run into all sorts of permissions issues accessing the filesystem from the snap app… Because snap is rather broken in this regard.

Functionally snap is a worse solution then deb, but I guess it's easier on the developer/maintainer as you don't get lost in shared dependincy hell.

I feel snaps should be an option if you need cutting edge version of a software that can't use your shared libs, but never the default install method.

  • I would say isreal has a right to defend itself, but not if they keep stealing land and oppressing the people who attack them.

If you want to defend yourself, first, you have to stop attacking the people who you claim to be defending against.

Hamnas is human garbage, but one can not separate the creation of Israel from the ghettoizing of the Palestinian people.

Nobody deserves terrorist attacks, but this didn’t come out of the blue.

Isreal needs to own up to it’s complicity in the violence before they try to claim to be the sole victims of it.

  • IDK if you think the culture is a utopia you read different books then I did.

It’s a utopia in almost the same way the world of Brave New World is a utopia… Only if you look skin deep. Any deeper look it’s either same shit different day or perhaps even a distopian where human like species are effectively pets or zoo animals for AI.

I did NOT read the culture as something good.
