  • regular capturing of neonazis in society.

Right, fascist countries are well known for prosecuting and imprisoning neonazis after all. That makes total sense…

Russia is geopolitically communist, even if its economy is not.

This is getting comedic at this point. I’d suggest reading some Marx and learning about the basic definition of communism before making a fool of yourself online.

  • It’s pretty telling that you think these pictures would be triggering to me. I’m not a nationalist, I have no problem saying that the nazi regime was horrifying. I have no issue saying that the current government unconditionally supporting Israel is a bad thing either. I’d never pretend the place I live in is the best place ever, or morally superior. Can you do the same?

    • Biggest democracy in the world
    • Wouldn’t consider it a world leader, to me it often seems more like they refuse to take a clear stance in world affairs, so they can continue positive relations with authoritarian countries like Russia
    • Rapid development, but still a lot of extreme poverty and inequality
    • Chaotic cities
    • Great food, especially for vegetarians like me
    • Religious extremism/conflicts seem prevalent

  • There have been many times in history when things have been far worse, so no, it’s not the worst. But many things are in decline right now. You have to dig 3 comment chains down until anyone even questions the article. In any case, I don’t see how that’s relevant to my point about moderation.

  • Their strict moderation has odd blind spots though. I just had a look at their front page to see what it’s like these days. They have a news article up since 15 hours that claims France has sent troops to Ukraine, which is just straight up fake news. Apparently allowed to stay up as long as it fits the narrative though.
