Right, and trickle down economics works. /s
And Geordi would probably canonically agree, at least with the second bit. Just finished reading Picard the Last Best Hope, and Geordi had no problem taking over the ship yards of Mars to build a fleet to save Romulans.
Even a small percentage is good. The situation is desperate.
The fewer first time home owners that get out bid by corps the better. Doesn’t matter if it is a drop in the bucket.
And that’s even before considering how it would help stop housing from being an investment vehicle.
Life on earth sruvived the permian-triassic extinction.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Permian–Triassic_extinction_event
Basically every volcano on earth lit up and choked the entire planet with toxic air, acid rain, continental fires, etc. Life survived that, it’ll survive humanity’s death throes.
Space is big, any civilization analyzing the composition of exo planet atmosphereres wouldn’t know for quite a while. It’s for more likely that they wouldn’t discover it until after several decades of passed, at which point it will have been too late.
That, and there’s the fact that first contact almost universally goes bad for the group with less technology, which is us in this case.
So you may as well just start playing the lottery.
“I didn’t read the article, so I’m gonna make shit up”
Men like him don’t learn from things like that. The only way he would “learn” is if you specified he wrote a manifesto of regret, then committed suicide.
You could try reading the article:
Barrett, a social media strategist who lives in Chicago, said her life was chronicled so much online that a man once sent her a private message on Facebook when she was 12. The message said he’d followed her home as she rode her bike and knew where she lived. The incident increased her anxiety and made her feel like strangers were watching her every move, she said.
McCarty said family vloggers should be regulated like the film industry, citing as an example a California law that mandates 15% of all child performers’ earnings be set aside in an interest-earning trust.
This is way too little in my opinion. It shouldn’t be allowed in the first place. Any amount of earnings that relies on your children necessarily creates a conflict of interest and safety hazard. If you monetize your platform, no part of it should include minors, especially minors for which you are a guardian.
but Taiwan is an island and amphibious operations are very very hard to pull off.
That might hurt them more than anything. All china has to do is blockade Taiwan, obliterate any fishing vessels and ports it sees, and bomb farmland.
A castle can only be defended for as long as it has food stores.
(Please please please don’t make this be my most up voted post)
I can downvote to prevent that if you like
Not his fault yinz always resort to insults.
* to enrich themselves at the cost of others
To be fair, brain worms would make anyone annoying.
Japan knew for a long time that they were going to lose and have not decided to surrender.
Tough shit. That doesn’t justify the killing of civilians.
Those 2 bombs definitely helped them with the decision.
This is a bad take given the evidence.
Howcome our entire justice system is right-wing and protects these fucking fascist?
It’s because the legislature is bought out by capitalists, right wing fascists have loaded up the courts with right wing judges, and the entire nation is built on a failed electoral system (part of which being a remnant of a comprimise with slavers).
While this is debatable, the regulation of cars is still a useful allegory for gun regulation.
