Actually explained like you would to a 5yo.
Awesome job.
Some IT guy, IDK.

As a qualified amateur operator, I approve this course of action.
That was wild. It’s hard to imagine that actually happening, but I know it did.
The structure of how TV was setup seems like it would be insanity now. They just used fast scan TV EM signals and bounced them wherever. If you got in the middle between them, or simply pointed a much more powerful transmitter/antenna array at the relay, you could override the signal.
Crazy. WTF.
I recently was looking for anything I could find for the max headroom TV series and couldn’t find a thing anywhere.
Oh well.
Usually I’m 6 with 2 happening often. Depending on what is happening, I will visit will 1 regularly.
We doing cutlery now?
Alright. I’ve seen stranger stuff on Lemmy.
Proceed.
I mean, what else am I supposed to do with it?
… No really, I’m asking.
Like shitty life pro tips, sleep edition.
According to their own book, no man will know the day or the hour IIRC. So anyone who says they know, at all, is by default wrong, and you can guarantee that it won’t happen at that time.
Everyone is a sinner. Especially the religious types.
I just assumed that they forget the horrid shit because of some twisted confirmation bias.
Everyone keeps pointing it out, and they keep telling themselves about the “good” things he’s done. Reinforcing their own confirmation bias.
I first heard about this phenomenon in “how to win friends and influence people”… It’s a book, crazy, right? It’s about human nature, and how arguing with someone often results in them arguing for their point, further entrenching them in their opinion. While they don’t convince you with their arguments, they convince themselves and that makes arguing with someone a difficult thing to do, and “win” at (by convincing the opposing person of your viewpoint).
The fact is, the more we argue with them about Trump, the more they have to argue for him being someone that’s going to “make America great again”, and the further they get entrenched into that viewpoint.
The sooner more people realize that this is a viscous cycle of mental violence and simply decide not to continue, the better. Obviously that’s hard to do when you are faced with the very real possibility of him being reelected, and essentially bringing back the Nazi party with him…
Idk what’s the right thing to do, but clearly, nobody is going to change the minds of the deranged “MAGA” crowd anytime soon.
All I can think is that it has a very…
… feel to it.
IKR. I’d apply for a job if that was a perk.
Right now the only way you’ll get that is if you work in an Indian restaurant, and bluntly, that would be a massive downgrade for me.
If I could upgrade my job and smell delicious food that I want to eat all day, and probably eat it too? Fuck yeah, there’s no downside here.
And got so far.
Cool story bro.

Where do babby come from?
An Americano isn’t coffee.
It’s a watered down espresso.
The only reason it exists is because Americans visiting Europe would ask for coffee, and many euro coffee shops only had espresso, so they just added hot water to espresso and that was close enough for the tourists.
At least, that was what I heard.
I would expect that Gabe is trying to hedge his bets and make the company more of a co-op, where several key figures in the company as well as himself, own the majority, so that there’s accountability in what everyone decides.
That way if someone’s kid ends up inheriting stock in valve, there’s a way to block them out of major decisions if there’s a need to.
If that’s indeed what’s happening, then it’s a very long-term play by Gabe. He’s looking so fast ahead, so that long after he’s departed the company, the values that make valve great (and successful) will endure.
