If you are actually interested there was movement, not sure if still going, a few years ago called financial independence. It was r/financialindependence. One of their influencers was Mr Money Moustache. You can look that up if you want

The back of my Australian olive oil. All our food and drink has this, except alcohol which they regulate differently.
Wow. Non American here. My kid regularly eats while I shop. I just bring empty packets to register for them to scan and they normally throw them out for me. No problem. Like zero problem.
I don’t even think our police would show up if they were called. They take 3hrs to turn up to a home invasion, so I doubt they’d show up for a banana. This is a crazy level of policing.

Monthly account fee of $40, waived for on time payments.
"I would cancel, but my mum likes to watch it and I set it up on her smart tv" -so many people I know
I hate them because I have a toddler and making sure they don't run off, move things from the scale, grab candy from the very child friendly height displays, all while trying to scan and bag my groceries.
At staff checkouts we load on conveyor belt together. I can keep control of my child. And then we leave.
I hate self serve. Staffed checkouts are much more relaxed for me. I did like self serve better before kids though.
They effectively have been abolished at mine. 30+ self serve, occasionally they have someone, but don't start until a hour after opening time, it's only 1 person. They don't cover breaks, so just close staffed check out then. Sometimes they are doing other jobs and you have to stand at the checkout for them to come over and open it up for you.
They are definitely discouraging it and make you feel like you are being difficult if you want to use them.
Rigor mortise.
A postmortem change resulting in the stiffening of the body muscles.
Basically when you have been dead for a little while, you stay in the position you are in. So a seated dead body went stiff on the drive to the hospital and stayed in that position even when taken out of the car.
When I quit my supermarket job after getting my accounting degree my manager tried to convince me to stay, saying they had plans to promote me into management and eventually I could work my way into a head office position.
Umm, no thanks, I think I’ll take the job that I’ve been working towards getting for years.
