This attitude mystifies me. When you’re swimming in shark infested waters, do you worry that the only viable boat around isn’t aimed exactly at the vacation destination you dream of?
Or are you unable to tell a rowboat from a man-eating shark?
Just an old retired guy who’s still a leftist.

I’m at the point where I’m convinced you’re being willfully dense.
Did you READ the original article??
Are you being intentionally dense?
Did you even READ the original linked article?
Seems like not.
Voting third party is the same as voting for Trump. THAT’S the effect that third party votes have. You’re deluding yourself if you think they have any other effect in this upcoming election.
These days swing states are more likely to have third party candidates because in the current case, both third party candidates are supported by MAGA millionaires who want them to spoil the election.
If they aren’t the same in their view, they they would be sensible to care about which wins. They have a stake in a less harmful result.
But literally throwing away their vote on a third party, they are inflicting harm on themselves, the electorate, and the world.
It’s pretty weird to insist on a course of action that won’t result in something you want. If you think both parties are the same, you’re wildly misinformed.
This is mind-bogglingly weird. I’ll never understand it.
That’s not bright of you. You going to clutch your pearls as Trump is inaugurated?
How about when he carries you off to a camp?
Bet she also “urges” withdrawing support from Ukraine.
Last night’s CNN interviews with undecided PA voters made me want to weep for the electorate.
So many of them really were clueless.
I’m not talking about a long-ago problem. I’m talking about a current install of Ubuntu.
I’m a very casual Linux user and in my experience, I’ve NEVER had a problem with a documented solution that didn’t require going down a rabbit hole of other references.
Something like this: “To get the trackpad to work with Ubuntu, make sure you’ve installed the hergelbergelXX package.” (No link, find it on your own!)
Visit the HergelBergelXX page. To install Hergelbergel on Ubuntu, you must install the framisPortistan Package Manager. (No link!)
On the FramisPortistan GitHub readme, we discover it requires the JUJU3 database system to be installed. “JUJU3 may cause conflicts with installed USB devices under Ubuntu” JUJU2, which shipped with Ubuntu, is no longer supported. Also we recommend Archie&Jughead Linux over other distributions.
And this essentially never stops.
All of this is comparatively a happy result—I actually DID post a question on linuxnoobs about getting my trackpad to work with Ubuntu… and have not had a single reply. I have no idea how to find out how to make it work.
Why would anyone thing it was a surprise? Cases are surging nationwide.
Also it’s spelled “D E M O C R A C Y”.
Idiot.
You’re ridiculously naive. We go to war, or the polls, with what we have. And if you don’t make the best use of the best candidate to get closer to what you’re actually in favor of, you’re a fool.

But any actual result of you voting 3rd party is to end up with a fascist president who has plainly stated his intent is to make sure you will never vote again.
You have to vote strategically. That is: with an eye to what your vote will actually DO.
Not voting, or voting third party in this election will directly contribute to the installation of a fascist dictator and the destruction of democracy.
Voting is not dating. You’re not trying to hook up with The ONE who is “perfect” for you.
Voting is public transport. You grab the one that’s going to get you closer to where you want to go.
I see. So you can’t tell the difference between a shark and a boat.
