You could check on the new requirements. There are some massive changes this year to the work visa programs. One such change is that you don’t have to work in your field of education anymore.

Wife and I are moving to Frankfurt am Main next month from the USA. Hopefully it goes well for us.
Force inside a cylinder vessel is just pressure times surface area. If you have the same pressure(soda carbonation) with more surface area, then you are putting less force on the walls. I don’t have any specialty in the materials engineering for canning, but i suppose less force on the walls means you could use thinner materials. However, soda can walls are already pretty thin to start with and from what I can find online, the tops are usually 2.5-3 times thicker. So, I could see it potentially cutting some cost from the tops by making them thinner but i doubt they are manufacturing different tops. It’s probably just marketing.
In the grand scheme of things, it’s not using much more. And if the prices are correct in OP, the markup on the new can is way higher than any extra cost they are incurring from additional raw materials. They probably had some marketing study show that a taller looking can makes consumer’s less angry about a price increase or some other crazy nonsense.
Ignore things like the bevel, wall thickness, etc. Just calculating for a basic right cylinder, you can see how the surface area changes for different heights with a constant volume. I’ve outlined the standard dimensions of a can(inches).

If you look at other countries like Germany you can get high speed 400mbps for around $30-35 a month. Fiber isn’t as available in a lot of areas but it is expanding and you can get 1000mbps for $45 a month.
US cable companies are price gouging customers so bad. And that’s all while getting money from the government to fund their infrastructure expansions.
I think it's important to point out that this disqualification under section 3 of the 14th amendment does not require conviction of a crime. Anyone who has previously taken oath as a member of the US government can be disqualified from holding office if they "have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof." There is enough of an argument that just providing comfort to insurrectionists is enough to disqualify.

“Official capacity” has not been defined yet so we don’t know what the limits are. We will have to wait and see.
