I’m failing to understand why we would need decimal units at all. Whats the point of them? And why do the original units havr to change name to something as ridiculous as “Gibibyte” while the unnecessary decimal units get the binary’s old name?

Reject MiB, call it “MB” like it originally was.

Im not the same person but I could reply to your deleted comment (I just wouldn’t knlw what you wrote, it says “deleted”, but I can still upvote that deletee comment lol). It currently has 3 upvotes.
I actually know quite a bit about Argentinian football. What you’re describing was either a long time ago or not referring to the first division. The only match that would remotely come close to that would be a Boca Juniors VS River Plate match…
Of course it does. OP asked multiple questions, this was sipposes to answer why they used KDE instead of Gnome. I personally think Arch would have the advantage of having the newewst drivers, Proton version etc. available.
Can you name another country whose national team’s hooligans were as prominent in the media as English ones were?
I actually though of England right away, even before seeing their feddit.uk name
Perhaps their stack is on Windows 2005 Server
Do you need help lifting the rock you’re living under?
…do you not understand how basic math works?
I do, actually. My whole point was that you need basic maths in your everyday life even though you have a calculator on your phone. You jumped right into the 6th comment in this thread without reading what this is about, didn’t you?
You don’t know how much you need to pay for it if you only know the price of 1kg but you buy half a kilo.
Reminds me of Bo Burnham’s song New Math
Buy if you want to buy only half a kg, you don’t know how much it costs because it only lists the price for a full kg. Do you start pulling out your Excel for that?
Yeah but the wording is basically: “Prices are higher because they are”.
“Can I get that salad medium-rare please?”
It says you only have ten seconds, I doubt you could log onto another (Unix) computer in that time, open the terninal, run the man oage and then run over and enter a valid command…
Well, thank you for taking the time to write this detailed explanation!
Windows and MacOS use the abbriviation “MB” referring to the binary units, correct? How come that these big OS’s use another unit than these large international bodies recognize?
On a side note, I’ve always found it weird why HDDs or SSDs are/were sold with 128GB, 265GB, 512GB etc. when they are referring to decimal units.
