  • What a terrible unnecessary and emotionally loaded strawman argument. I actually own the DLC and love BG3 just as I love Larian‘s other recent games. You‘re wrong about it being just cosmetics too. And it was Larian who made a HUGE deal about not tolerating any additional, paywalled content when the game had it from day 1. And so you now make a huge deal about how it somehow doesn‘t count because Larian is based or something. Just accept that they lied there just like they lie about shareholders and enjoy the video game like everyone else without treating the devs like your holy absolute.

  • They didn‘t show any of that so unless there‘s been an interview with more info, a new region and new pals and gear is pretty much all we know for sure. It also seems like they scrapped the dark comedy bits that put it on the map in the first place and go the „epic fantasy“ route instead like most anime style games. Just judging by the trailer and it‘s tone, I think they take this thing too seriously now.

  • I mean that’s completely illegal at least in places like Germany where people have the right to be forgotten, but unfortunately you’re still right. They already commited the biggest heist in human history and got away with it. I guess NFT grifters only got punished because they dared to also steal from some rich people while Altman and his cronies are smart enough to only steal from the other 99.9%. When they have your data once, you can’t request it back anymore. Because the worst that can happen to them is a slap on the wrist and the cost of being in the fastest growing business of our times. In other words: World’s fucked and shit sucks.

  • Setting aside what others have said here. I think the article does a lot of framing by suggesting the protests and criticism are entirely directed at Israel’s entry. From what I’ve seen, the whole event itself is in the midst of a crossfire of criticism for letting Israel participate as well as being heavily biased in favor of the Israeli contestant. The Q&A with the contestants yesterday seemed to be very politicized in general. But once Golan was asked something, the organizers felt the need to clarify that she does not have to answer anything she felt uncomfortable with. That rubbed the (now probably former) contestant of the Netherlands the wrong way, asking “Why not?”. Well, the Joost situation certainly doesn’t help the organizers either. Whether they had anything to do with it or not, it puts the spotlight on them even more.
