Someone fell against the bathroom sink 7 years ago during christmas, put just enough pressure on the drain pipe to crack it. Managed to seal it up tight by entombing it in half a tube of silicon caulk and a bunch of zipties to stabilize things in place.
One of these days i'll get around to replacing that PVC pipe and fix it proper.
Probably didn't have the masonry bit they needed to do it.
It's probably temporary until they come back with the bit and the anchors.
That's hopeful thinking.
