    Yep that's definitely the reason, but overall this might be a good thing for communities

    It makes it easier to get rid of old mods, while also allowing them to come back and continue like before. I'm leaning on this change being more good than not

      There were definitely a lot of abandoned subs that sat completely unattended for years.

        Maybe somewhat, but I think most of the subreddit closures were done by active mods

        I think it was just the one big sub that went NSFW despite the active mods not wanting it

        Mods have long been asking for ways to remove senior/inactive mods, but we didn't get it till it became a headache to admin too
