Russia called on the U.N.'s highest court in The Hague on Monday to throw out what it said was a "hopelessly flawed" case challenging Moscow's argument that its invasion of Ukraine was carried out to prevent genocide.
What? Russia made those claims sure. Ukraine is making the argument that even if this claim was true they wouldn't be allowed to invade Ukraine which honestly I really really FUCKING don't like as a claim. The only purpose of this entire thing is just to get better settlement in the peace settlement after the war. It's honestly a really EHH situation to me that doesn't show much.
Also why are you bringing PCM into it at all PCM was pro-Ukraine as far as I remember?
… isn't Ukraine making these claims because Russia has been deporting trainloads of Ukrainian to Siberia and replacing them with Russian citizens? We saw this on Crimea in particular when all the residents were so desperate to leave last year.
This case as a whole was brought to bear a few days after February 24th (the start of the “non-proxy war”) and thus the overall claims would not be in regards to them but just originally about the justification.
But the argument being talked about in the post that Ukraine is using is that even if they were committing a genocide that Russias war would still be invalid and Russia should pull out of the country.
Like these arguments really don’t relate to that situation…
What?
Russia tried to say they preemptively invaded Ukraine because Ukraine was going to invade Russia and commit genocide…
Ukraine obviously said that was bullshit.
I'd ask what the fuck you were thinking, but I already looked at your account and saw you mod a knockoff of Political Compass memes…
