She’s already turned into a corporate Dem. She’s trying to become Pelosi 2.0

After grassroots pressure, AOC said in March that the Biden admin is complicit in an “unfolding genocide” in Gaza.

Now given a primetime appearance at the DNC, AOC forgets the whole genocide thing and falsely claims that Kamala Harris “is working tirelessly to secure a ceasefire in Gaza.”

Edit: I used to talk to her before she was elected. She used to be very progressive but changed like they all do once elected. She was active on Reddit’s SandersforPresident sub.

First, there’s more than one issue on the minds of Americans. I hope you, like the gun rights people and the abortion people, can see that.

Second, the Biden administration and Harris, especially in the context of the DNC, are now different things so both statements could be true.

Third, what makes you say it’s untrue that Harris “is working tirelessly to secure a ceasefire in Gaza.”?
And, what makes you say this is the only thing a politician has fabricated or misconstrued? I mean, you just sound like a delusional Trumper.

        March 3 https://www.npr.org/2024/03/03/1235712368/kamala-harris-gaza-ceasefire-israel-aid

Vice President Kamala Harris on Sunday called for an immediate, temporary cease-fire in Gaza to facilitate a hostage deal between Israel and Hamas, and pressed Israel to do more to increase the flow of aid to alleviate the “immense scale of suffering” among Palestinians. Her remarks are some of the strongest made by a senior U.S. official regarding the protection of civilians in Gaza.

        March 4 https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/kamala-harris-gaza-speech-watered-down-cease-fire-rcna141750

The original draft of Harris’ speech, when it was sent to the National Security Council for review, was harsher on Israel about the dire humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and the need for more aid than were the remarks she ultimately delivered, according to one of the current officials and the former official.

        July 25 https://www.politico.com/news/2024/07/25/harris-netanyahu-israel-cease-fire-00171315

Vice President Kamala Harris met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in private Thursday and followed it with a strikingly forceful call on his government to get a cease-fire deal done and ease the suffering of civilians in Gaza.

        July 26 https://www.cnn.com/2024/07/25/politics/harris-netanyahu-israel-hamas-ceasefire/index.html

far-right members of the Israeli cabinet have pushed against a deal, criticizing pressure from Harris to secure one.

        Yesterday https://apnews.com/article/us-israel-blinken-hamas-palestinians-gaza-34f91f99c9a4f63e98134aaecb7af971

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Monday that Israel has accepted a proposal to bridge differences holding up a cease-fire and hostage release in Gaza

Finally, if not AOC, who is “left enough” for you?

Again, most Americans have more than one issue on their minds. If all you care about is one thing, that’s great for you but you’re not having a conversation about whether a congress person being left enough.

Again, if not AOC, then who is left enough?

No. Of course not. If that’s the only issue, or even top 20 issues, you think that matters to most people, you are either a very privileged, delusional, or malinformed person. In most polling, the country has been divided in half about the war to begin with.

                July - https://news.gallup.com/poll/646955/disapproval-israeli-action-gaza-eases-slightly.aspx

Do you approve or disapprove of the military action Israel has taken in Gaza?
                42% approve, 48% disapprove (+6%, -7% since March).

For the third time, if AOC is not left enough, then who?

Correct. We do not have actual leftist politicians in the US. We have a small few that are left leaning.

                    I guess that’s it.
I mean, it’s not a trick question. I genuinely want to know.

I don’t have a problem with people being passionate about topics. It’s important. It’s also important to be somewhat informed or at least able to pull rational facts before you go on about something. And it’s important to understand you’ll never know everything going on about a subject or in the minds of others from your keyboard. Don’t let your emotions blind you - allow them to propel your curiosity and intellectual growth.

Here’s a thread about it if you actually care.

As I sit on AOC lying about Harris ‘working tirelessly towards a ceasefire’, the angrier I get. It’s not just a lie, it is complete historical and moral revisionism meant to cleanse Harris of any and all culpability in the genocide of the Palestinians.

      But there’s more. A thread…

This helps me understand where you’re getting your information. Thanks.

Actually, I’m not able to because X is paywalled. Nor do I care to read what some random on that shit platform has to say. If you have some actual reports from actual journalists that corroborate that Harris has done nothing, in contrast to the actual news reports I’ve offered, please share.

Ok… that’s a wholly unsubstantiated opinion from some random nobody. Is this a joke?

As I sit on @AOC lying about Harris ‘working tirelessly towards a ceasefire’, the angrier I get. It’s not just a lie, it is complete historical and moral revisionism meant to cleanse Harris of any and all culpability in the genocide of the Palestinians.

                But there’s more.

AOC is ostensibly speaking to young progressives when she says this — meaning she is weaponizing that positionality to bring votes for a woman who’s done nothing but back Israel & its genocide. And if Harris is ‘working tirelessly towards a ceasefire’ - then what has she been doing for the past ten months, as second in command?

What does Harris as VP have the power to do or not do…?

The Democrats are unwilling & unable to approach this contradiction because it dismantles Harris as a capable candidate. Jayapal told me she had just spoken to Harris that day (Saturday) that I spoke to her. There is no ‘tireless work towards a ceasefire’ happening with Harris.

Ah okay what a shame. Most go through this phase in their late teens and early twenties and then shortly after recognize the bigger picture.

Who said anything about being conservative? Interesting to falsely equate leftism with self-defeatist pyrrhic victories though. I’m pretty far left; I just understand the nature of entropy.

I’m surprised you haven’t used the word pragmatic yet. It’s been nearly a decade since Dems and Hillary kept saying we need a pragmatic approach. We’re still not even getting crumbs at this point.

In fairness I was very close to using that word but figured I’d spare you… This time.

I agree the Clinton third way narrative pushed the Overton window and allowed conservatives to control the narrative for decades. I don’t view Kinzinger and the like speaking her to be that, however.
