For the head of the teamsters to go to the RNC event and try to get their support was so laughable. This is what union leaders should be doing

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. The teamsters president is playing political games. They only want the PRO act. It wasn’t happening with only lukewarm democratic support, so by getting the Republican party to cheer about being “pro-labor” at the televised RNC, it pressures Democrats to chase the ball. Don’t believe me? Well it worked. Democrats were demanding a vote on the PRO act the next week.

Not saying it wasn’t disappointing to see him there, but there is also an argument that the Teamsters were there with a pro-labor message (that was not well received by the crowd) in order to push democrats toward voting on pro labor legislation called the PRO Act I believe, which they did the following week.

I can tell you that there are some very confused members of the Teamsters that will vote against their own interests because they’re brainwashed by right wing media. The leadership is not. They were sending a message to the Democratic Party that lawmakers need to hold up their end of the bargain. The PRO Act ended up on the floor the following week if I recall correctly.

Edit: The PRO Act is legislation meant to strengthen workers’ rights to organize.
