A majority of voters in New Hampshire wrote-in Biden’s name on ballots where he did not appear officially

President Joe Biden won the New Hampshire Democratic primary, despite his name not appearing on the state’s presidential primary ballot.

The Associated Press called the race for Mr Biden shortly after polls closed on Tuesday night, as a majority of voters wrote in the president’s name.

Mr Biden’s campaign purposefully did not file the president’s name for the ballot within the deadline in an act of solidarity with the Democratic National Convention’s (DNC) decision to make South Carolina the first state to hold a primary.

Legitimately, i’m fucking glad to have a just-okay president.

Is he charismatic? No. Is he doing everything exactly the way I would have wanted? Also no. Is he doing his damn job and not helping turn politics into a reality tv shitshow? Hell fucking yes he is. I am so here for someone just shutting up and trying to do the stuff he promised. Hell, he’s actually getting a lot more done than I even expected/was hoping him to.

Sorry to pick on your comment, but I have a question about a statement everyone seems to assert…

        Is he charismatic? No.

(As a disclaimer I’m out of touch with people’s impressions on this)

I don’t understand this statement from everyone. Charismatic compared to what? He’s way more charismatic than most humans - he’s a career politician who manages thousands of relationships. He snaps off solid one-liners to shut down trolls. He leaned into the Dark Brandon thing. If he spent effort seeming even more charismatic, I’d be more concerned about his fitness for the job.

Put another way, I see him as having the right balance of charisma for voters aged 35+.

What are people wishing we had instead of that, in a presidential candidate?

I personally don’t expect or want anything more, but it seems a lot of people are expecting someone on the inspirational level of Obama (or Trump, if you’re talking about inspiring insurrection attempts)

Multiple things are true at the same time. He’s better for humanity than his alternative, he’s not a reality show fuckwit, but doing his job is not a positive as it almost entirely entails keeping everyone firmly under the boot of capitalism. He’s made improvements within the totally broken system and also done nothing to change the totally broken system.

I am in no way glad that he’s our president but I’m glad it’s him over the orange monster.
