I keep seeing headlines that this thing is priced competitively but it looks like it starts at ~$50 more than the Ally. And I’ve literally never heard of this company so it sounds like a gamble when it comes to quality. Not trying to say it’s not a good product but I have a hard time trusting anything with very little to no brand recognition. I’m curious to see the reviews once it’s been on the market for a while though.

OneX has been around for a while, their main competition up until the release of the Steam Deck has been AyaNeo and GPDWin. They do make some solid systems, but they’ve (all 3) traditionally been a lot more expensive than SD and Ally have pushed the market.

Well, the company that puts out those models has been around for a little bit. Handheld PCs has always been a niche market and up until recently has not been in the limelight. The steam deck kinda of changed that, and for the better. I have their OneXPlayer 2 model and it’s a beast. I have heard horror stories about the customer service though, but I couldn’t tell you if there is truth to those stories or not.
