It sucks when this happens, but the article also says:

So not ideal but at least the devs want to support Linux.

Nice, wish I had seen this before I sent them a message, lmao. It's good news that they're looking into it though.

I'm holidaying and it was my first time using my Steam Deck docked when I encountered this issue. I spent hours tweaking settings and googling trying to find out how others were able to play on Deck. To be honest I was actually relieved to find out it was an EAC issue.

Yep, found this out the hard way over the weekend :/
