I still can't believe that nothing came of that investigation. When his buddy pled guilty I thought an indictment was on its way.

The moderate wing of the republican party completely folded on this speaker issue. They made so much noise though they I hope a lot of "on the fence" republicans are getting frustrated with their choices. My father in law voted Republican his entire life until Trump's reelection and he's been voting for Democrats in national elections since. He still votes republican for his local elections. More of that and we can kiss people like boebert goodbye.

I hope this finally shows the electorate that there's no such thing as a moderate Republican any more. A lot of these guys got elected in areas where the MAGA stuff doesn't play too well, so it should be easy to tie them to the extremists in the next election.

I'm going to watch Arizona's Senate race. It looks to be a three way race with Sinema, lake, & most likely Ruben Gallego. If Republicans line up behind lake and the independents and Democrats are split between Sinema and Gallego then we get senator lake, which would not be very good.

Are there any democrats still willing to vote for Sinema though? I assumed everyone pretty much hates her after she showed her true colors.

I don't live in Arizona so I don't claim to have inside knowledge but I don't think it's a deeply democratic state. I think that there are quite a few moderate Democrats who will vote for her. Kelly and Sinema both won by only a couple of percentage points. It wouldn't take a lot to spoil it for Lake, especially if all the Republicans stick with her.
