So… That means don’t vote? I don’t understand what you’re trying to say to be honest

On one hand, yes let’s get annoyed at companies for using alot of energy. On the other hand, we have known our energy needs will be exponential for decades yet we haven’t tackled the issue. We still burn fossil fuels, despite having the ability to not do that.
Being angry at companies for building a new technology yet not being angry at the government and NIMBY fuckwads is a little… Backwards imo.
Yes I am aware that Texas is full of morons that vote to hurt themselves. However, 5,890,347 votes were cast republican, and 5,259,126 were cast democrat. It’s not as deep red sea as you believe it to be.
I mean I’m from the UK but votes in Texas absolutely do matter, arguably more than most states. Get your shit together man, it’s not just a presidential issue, it’s the entire government and the supreme court appointment at stake.
“printing” money happens very very often. The US constantly prints money AND increases it’s debt yet the dollar stays strong. You have to remember value of a currency is imaginary, it’s just a contract where we agree X is X and Y is Y.
While yes you can devalue a currency by printing money, you can also increase its value by strengthening the system it’s printed into. If we print money to build and improve, the UK becomes more desirable and therefore it’s currency more valuable despite it’s increased monetary supply.
It’s alot more complicated than Print more worth less. Hell I expected high inflation after COVID due to increased printing, and while inflation did happen, it was not for that reason, it was pure greed.
It’s harsh to criticise people for not working for free…
Right but a small company or even a group of people aren’t going to put resources into something that a few % of people use. Look at Linux, despite it being the most used operating system in the world, retail sticks to windows and Mac, so it just doesn’t get the same level of support.
I completely agree in the sense people should educate themselves and use products that benefit them and don’t abuse them, but people don’t. And because people don’t, companies won’t.
You said it better than I could
Most people don’t use federated services. I know it’s ironic that an open source project isn’t using open source channels, but sometimes it’s best to stick to services that are easy access and popular.
I’m sure if enough people got in contact about using open source communication they would likely attempt it.
Imagine the size of the lightning port
I’ve found that the better I’ve gotten at writing prompts and giving enough information for it to not hallucinate, the better answers I get. It has to be treated as what it is, a calculator that can talk, make sure it has all of the information and it will find the answer.
One thing I have found to be super helpful with GPT4o is the ability to give it full API pages so it can update and familiarise it’s self with what it’s working with.
Real true Americans do love blowing up brown people that’s true
I emailed Microsoft to get my domain removed from their blacklist and it worked within 48 hours. Aslong as my domain has it’s correct security settings I no longer go to spam. Gmail didn’t seem to care as much.
Unless we figure out fusion and create infinite energy…
Just a few more centuries of break throughs
Out of that list I use OVHCloud. Their VPS are built on Epyc (atleast they are in London), which gives very high performance for a low price.
I mean, the question should also be, does league of legends have a big enough cheating issue to justify having an invasive anti-cheat. I played the game for 10 years and not once did I knowingly encounter a cheater.
I’m not arguing with your parenting style or saying you’re doing it wrong etc etc, I agree with it in theory but I’d like to share my younger sisters story.
My mum decided she couldn’t have social media until she was “old enough” to protect her, this however caused her to end up getting a secret phone and create secret social media accounts. This eventually led to her being cyber bullied by students at her school who’s parents were less cautious. But because she was doing all of this secretly as her mum had said no to social media, she didn’t feel like she could get the support she needed. Fortunately she had an older brother who could help her, but I couldn’t go to the school for her as I’m not her guardian.
I personally after this would lean into the world of not necessarily supervised social media usage, but educating and cautioning what it means to post on social media. How it will never go away and when it’s there, it’s there forever.
My sister fully understands this now and is doing alot better, but ultimately the damage is done.
I fully understand the point of view of no social media until 18, I just want you to be aware of potential consequences of being strict on it.
Alright Mr snarky pants calm down, I was adding onto your comment not attacking it
Now I’m imagining you making child porn
