  • So, I work in a gun store(part time), if you think bump stocks are unethical, look up(or don’t) a binary trigger. Those, as far as I know, have never been banned, and are far more effective when it comes to trying to attempt to increase fire rate.

To be honest, a lot of gun legislation is really ineffective. The amount of loopholes etc, are kinda insane. If we’re going to talk about gun legislation, it needs to be a helluva lot more than a part ban on “assault style” firearms, until then, it’s just pandering for votes imo.

(Please don’t assume I am a crazy arsenal wielding person. I actually don’t own any firearms at this moment despite my part time occupation.)

  • Thanks! Yeah I wouldn’t say I didn’t enjoy the writing of the DLC, but, after doing 2 hours of fetch quests, another 2 hours of fetch quests was a bit rough. Though, I don’t think I would have liked Theresa as much as I do without it. So there’s that.

Glad to hear about the weapon combos.

combat is difficult until you and Henry know what they’re doing.

So I shouldn’t be that upset that 1v1 bandits are very hard and anything more is actually impossible for me?

I’m definitely enjoying it, though, now that I feel that the world has opened up, I don’t feel like I can progress the main story(killing bandits after ginger) so I’m sorta just treading water, not sure how to progress lol

  • Maybe I’m a naive idealist, but, in the age of social media I actually tend to disagree. If there’s ever a time that a 3rd party could be plausible, it’s now. Everyone hates both sides, social media and the internet gives anyone a platform.

The notion that you cannot vote for anyone else is and has been pedaled by both sides for too long. It’s tired and false.

I don’t see either party being willing to pass something that in-essence, weakens their stance, so voting reform is likely dead.

Idk, this country is fucked. Like I can even easily go counter myself as I type this. You’re probably right. I just don’t want to believe it. I’ll likely be voting democrat anyway, simply cause my soul knows you’re right. Fuck.

  • I agree. And I most definitely understand, you don’t have, not should you expect a right to privacy the second you leave your front door. (Arguably before that too, but that’s neither here nor there.)

I think what bothers me most is, I don’t want, let’s say my walking pattern in a city, monitored(it already is) to then have some camera see that I’m having a “bad day” then in inundated with ads that, “based on my profile, x emotion shows I’ll spend money here.” Idk. It just feels very dystopian, if that reasoning makes sense. Though, it’s sorta like climate change, it’s inevitable and the individual is essentially powerless.

  • Well, I don’t think that’s the profound bit, more, that, you have an army of video surveillance robots. The time you are walking down the street being recorded is only ever increasing. Granted, every official is going to come at it from the “reduced crime” stat, which, surveillance does combat, but, it’s a slippery slope.

If they had cause, I’m sure the majority of my private conversations, and where I’ve been have all been recorded and could be used against me in court. Am I a criminal? No. I’m not “scared” of it necessarily. I don’t think it’s ethical though.

  • Okay, I see where you’re coming from. I agree with it too. Thank you for typing this out! (So beautifully too. I’m on mobile so expect abysmal editing and a wall of text. Sorry not sorry.) I will say that I was definitely coming from it from the perspective of “you’re allocated x number of $ to do your work.” Which, as you’re getting at, really isn’t the true issue. It’s a systemic one.

Interestingly, a lot of my “politically charged conversations” basically end up going down this path. But, how does one fix a systemic problem? Every time I try to come up with any sort of solution it basically turns to “damn I hope someone smarter than me has ideas cause mine are ‘burn it down’”.
