I am currently making my portfolio site using, Angular, and Bootstrap (with custom CSS), and I really need help designing my website.
I’m learning Full-Stack Development, but I have done enough to become a Front-End Developer.
Please suggest any changes, and I will make an updated post with the progress.
Not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for but I found this series to be incredibly helpful at understanding principles of design to make something attractive and functional.
Also, I can highly recommend using one of those "we spy on all your users and replay their visits for you so you can see how they actually interact with the site" tools. Luckyorange seems like it's gotten bad recently but maybe Mouseflow or similar. You'll learn more about how to improve the site based on observing 5 actual people interacting with it than from hundreds of hours theorizing and working on this perfect vision in your head.
Not gonna lie, the description kinda meh. Should I go for long descriptions or short and sweet?
Keep it clean. That's what the rest of the site is for
Define clean.
Minimal visual clutter. I would consider a landing page like the above with a bar or drop down or whatever with "about", " portfolios", "repos" etc. Style is up to you, but in terms of structure that is what I would do rather than put it all on one page
So no navigation bar?
